Values & Beliefs

The Bible

We believe that the entire Bible is God's holy and perfect Word, without error. Our teachings encompass both the Old and New Testaments, recognizing that the entire Bible directs us toward Jesus Christ, and we embrace the application of God's Word in all aspects of our lives. (Psalm 119, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21)

God

We believe in one God, the God revealed in the Bible. He is the Creator, characterized by holiness, justice, and perfection. God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He exists as one God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2, Deuteronomy 4:35, Psalm 18:30, John 1:1, Acts 5:3-4, 1 Timothy 2:5, Revelation 22:13)

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus is both fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, Jesus lived a sinless life. He willingly died on the cross to redeem us from our sins and triumphantly rose from the dead on the third day. Jesus appeared to over 500 witnesses in His resurrected, glorified body. He ascended to Heaven and now sits at the right hand of God's throne. (John 1:1-5, Matthew 1:18, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, Mark 16:19)

Man

We believe that God created humanity in His image, forming them as male and female. After creating the heavens and the earth, God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. God instructed them not to eat from the tree of good and evil, but they disobeyed. This act of disobedience led to the fall of mankind, and since then, every person is born with a sinful nature that opposes God. Sin encompasses thoughts, actions, and words that transgress God's law, and all individuals have sinned against Him. (Genesis 1-3, Romans 3:23)

Salvation

We believe that salvation is found exclusively in Jesus Christ. Through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection on the third day, Jesus provided the means of our redemption. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus, not by our own works. By placing our faith in Christ, repenting of our sins, and following Him, we receive the assurance of eternal life in Heaven. We also affirm the reality of Heaven and Hell. Jesus is the only path to the Father, being the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Him. (Matthew 4:18-22, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9, Luke 13:3, John 3:16, John 14:6)

The Church

We believe that the Church consists of those who have faith in Christ and follow Him. Jesus is actively building His Church and serves as its head. The Church represents the body of Christ, and every individual has a unique role to fulfill. As believers, we gather on Sunday, the first day of the week, in recognition of Jesus' resurrection and the tradition of the early church. (Matthew 16:13-18, Acts 2:42-47, Acts 20:7, Ephesians 4:1-16, Hebrews 10:23-25, 1 Peter 2:4-12)

Baptism and Communion

We believe in immersion baptism for followers of Jesus. Baptism does not bring salvation, but symbolizes the commitment of surrendering one's life to Christ. It represents the act of dying with Christ and being raised to a new life. (Mark 1:9-11, Matthew 28:16-20, Romans 6:3-4)

We believe in partaking in Communion as a church. The bread symbolizes Christ's body, and the cup represents His blood. Communion serves as a remembrance of Christ's crucifixion, resurrection, and the anticipation of His future return. (Matthew 26:26-28, 1 Corinthians 11:23-34)

The Rapture and the Second Coming

We believe in the future rapture of the church and the second coming of Jesus. The deceased will be raised, and Jesus will return as the judge, not as a lamb. The unsaved will face Hell, while the saved will enter Heaven. The saved will behold Jesus, receive glorified bodies, and dwell eternally in the New Heaven and New Earth. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, Revelation 22:12-13, 2 Timothy 4:1)

Marriage and Family

We believe that marriage was established by God from the beginning, involving one man and one woman for a lifetime. Sexual intimacy is intended exclusively for marriage, and the marital relationship should remain pure. Any sexual activity outside of marriage is considered sinful, including homosexuality, as stated in the Word of God. In marriage, husbands are called to love their wives, and wives are called to respect their husbands. Marriage serves as a reflection of Christ as the bridegroom and the Church as His bride. (Genesis 2, Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18, Romans 1, Ephesians 5:22-33)

We believe that the family is a divine institution established by God. In marriage, children are a blessing if it is God's will. Parents have the responsibility of nurturing and instructing their children in the ways of the Lord. Children are called to honor and obey their parents. Together, as a family, they serve the Lord. As children grow into adulthood, they establish their own families and continue the generational cycle. Additionally, it is the responsibility of adult children to care for their aging parents. (Genesis 2:24, Exodus 20:12, Joshua 24:15, Proverbs 22:6, Colossians 3:18-21, 1 Timothy 5:8)

Missions and Evangelism

BC1BC is more than a local church; we are a church dedicated to serving our community. Our deep desire is to connect with those beyond our doors, demonstrating Christ's love, guiding them in building a relationship with Him, and empowering them to share His message. (Matthew 4:18-22, Matthew 25:31-46, Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:42-47)

Vision & Mission

Our vision is to reach people locally and globally for Jesus through outreach, evangelism, and discipleship. (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20)

Our mission is to reach and disciple all individuals, guiding them to become committed followers of Jesus Christ. (2 Timothy 2:2, Ephesians 4:12)
